An amazing piece of Australian history and one of the most notable homes in the state Baroona’s story begins as Rosemont in 1829 when the first stage was built by John Lanarch and Co. on land granted to James Mudie in 1823.
Albert Dangar acquired the property in 1869 and commissioned Benjamin Backhouse to design Baroona retaining the walls of Rosemount.
Further additions include a Morbury Hunt designed service wing in 1885 and stables in 1887.
The tower and spiral staircase were designed by Frederick Menkins in 1893.

Often described as a ‘castle’, the stately home of 26 main rooms sits proudly on 100 acres of grazing country watered by 6 dams and town water, just South of the Hunter Valley town of Singleton and only 15 minutes drive from the Pokolbin Wine Region.
